Concept Group is pleased to announce that they will be the lead sponsor for the the Stanford
Graduate School of Business Rugby Team when they head to the MBA world Championships this weekend
(April 11th to April 14th). Concept is delighted to lend its' support to the world's leading
business school as they compete for 3 days against 24 of the elite business schools from around the
world.
Currently studying at the Stanford GSB (MBA Class of 2008) and coach of the Rugby Team, is
Concept Alum, Shaun Paterson who commented:
"The MBA World Championship in North Carolina is an event that is one of the true highlights
of the MBA experience, and one which all of the guys on the trip look forward to immensely. A key
component of what makes the MBA experience so valuable is the interactions with such a diverse and
interesting group of individuals. Nowhere is this more true than at this tournament,
where many friendships are formed with MBAs from all around the globe - I think the lineup for
this year includes schools from France, London, Australia, Ireland, Canada and all of the top
American schools.
It is a little odd that Rugby is the sport of choice for the most significant "get together" of MBAs from all corners of the globe, but it is a testament to the sports unique ability to foster strong friendships and couple sporting competition with a great social event. On a personal level, it has been both very amusing and very rewarding to introduce the game to my American colleagues in preparation for the tournament. Once they stopped "high fiving" each other after each time they caught the ball we began to make some progress and many of them have really fallen for the game!
On behalf of all of the players that are benefiting from Concept's generous support, I would
like to express our sincere thanks. The combination of the "rugby tour" experience and the
interaction with such a diverse group of MBAs from around the world, will be an experience that our
players will remember for a very long time. Thanks again for all your help"
