Peter McLaren (b. 1964)
Peter McLaren is a Graduate of Edinburgh College of Art. He attracted attention early in his career with large works of athletic cyclists and couples in fast cars. A dynamic technique and bold colour sense matched his chosen subjects. He continued with a series of works based on the paintings of the Spanish master Velasquez particularly "Las Meninas." Also bold, wild Orkney seascapes and a series of opullent still life and flowerpieces.
