Environmental Policy

With accelerated climate change and global CO2 emissions climbing, we believe it is the responsibility of every company to preserve Earth’s natural resources wherever possible.

While it would be unrealistic to expect businesses to stop producing paper, we can take steps to ensure that this paper output is kept to a minimum. We pride ourselves on providing solutions that will drastically reduce consumable wastage and CO2 emissions in the following ways:

  1. Reduction in overall print volume: the machines only output what is needed so that the printer does not waste toner and paper
  2. Reduction in consumables: because the machines only output as required, toner levels remain higher for longer so are ordered less frequently. Paper is not wasted on uncollected print jobs, so the company can order less paper.
  3. Reduction of output to landfill: in addition to the points above, using machines that are more toner efficient will naturally result in less used toner cartridges ending up in landfill.
  4. Reduction of production of hazardous waste: machines that use longer life consumables result in less hazardous waste going to landfill.
  5. Reduction in paper output: setting print to duplex as the default mode can save the average company around 3 tonnes of paper a year, which equates to 64 trees.
  6. Reduction in energy consumption: machines can be set to power down when not in use, while still retaining their quick start-up time. Canon MFPs adhere to current environmental standards, with low warm up times, low energy consumption and automatic sleep mode when not in use.   Furthermore, they also comply with RoHS EU directives and carry an Energy Star rating.
  7. Reduction in toner usage: setting the print quality to draft can significantly reduce your toner usage. You can also use the ecofont, which is a free font that because of its unique design uses 20% less toner than standard fonts.

Waste Toner Recycling

Technically the customer is classified as the 'Waste Producer' and all spare parts and consumable items are the property of the customer, even in a lease arrangement. However, this does not mean that Concept Group do not treat this issue seriously as we understand that we all play a part in protecting the environment. Concept are passionate about meeting and exceeding our customers expectations and offer a unique service for the collection, separation and recycling of old toner cartridges, waste toner containers and the waste toner itself. We have set-up a very simple and cost effective service which lets customers meet their obligations and helps us to contribute to the best recycling practices. Concept have teamed up with a fully licenced waste processor who has demonstrated to us that they meet all the legislative requirements of WEEE (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment).

Such solutions can help towards maintaining compliance with ISO standard 14001:2004 as part of a broader company policy
