The HP Designjet 5500 series
Combines high productivity, uncompromising image quality, and "intelligent" printing solutions that simplify workflow and allow unattended printer operation. Flexible for varied work environments, the series supports multiple ink sets and a wide range of media and new production print modes make it easy for you to create ready-to-sell, large format documents quickly.

The powerful HP Jetdirect EIO 10/100 internal print server delivers fast data transmission speeds (4.5 MB per second). This new, higher speed translates to increased uptime and efficiency for your business. You can print high-quality, large format documents quickly, for optimal productivity.

• Web-file submitter for easy connectivity in multiplatform environments including UNIX, Linux, Mac OS, and Windows
• New 40 GB hard disk eliminates resending time for large files - information can be stored and maintained using the Web-file submitter - files on the hard disk will not be lost, even if the printer's power is turned off
• HP Designjet WebAccess using any computer's Web browser for convenient remote access to configurable printer alerts, job management, printer status, and ink and media usage information
• Adobe PDF 1.3 and Adobe PostScript 3 built-in RIP (HP Designjet 5500ps) and RIP-ready version (HP Designjet 5500) for use with an array of external RIPs and GIS applications ³
